Helo GirlsĀ®: The Agricultural PilotĀ will be available this November. In this mission, our Helo Girl, Mei Lin, takes to the skies to explore how helicopters support farmers and agriculture.

One of the things Iām most excited about is the opportunity to bringĀ Helo Girls LIFT Dayā¢Ā to theĀ Broward County Sheriffās Office this October.
We are working together to create a special LIFT Dayā¢ experience forĀ BCSO employees and their families, bringing aviation, STEM, careers, leadership, and hands-on learning to the next generation.
The goal of LIFT Dayā¢ is simple:Ā help children see whatās possible.
We want kids to explore new ideas, ask questions, meet people in aviation and public safety, and discover careers they may have never considered.

The Helo GirlsĀ® curriculum continues to grow! Our newest lesson, inspired byĀ The Air Ambulance Pilot, takes students inside the human body to explore the incredible job the heart does every second of every day. Students will discover how the heart works, how blood moves through the body, and howĀ pumping, pressure, and circulationĀ connect to engineering and aviation. The lesson is designed to bring the air ambulance mission to life while introducing students to real-world STEM conceptsāand it is expected to be availableĀ by the end of the year!
Each Helo GirlsĀ® lesson is designed to align withĀ national education standards, making it easy to incorporate aviation and STEM learning into the classroom.

Why Do Helicopters Have Rotor Blades?
Ask your young aviator:Ā āWhy do you think a helicopter needs rotor blades?āĀ Have them hold their hand flat and move it quickly through the air. What do they feel? Explain that rotor blades are designed like airfoils. As they rotate through the air, they createĀ lift, allowing the helicopter to rise and fly.
For a little extra fun, make a simple paper helicopter and drop it from a safe height. Change the blade length or width and test it again. Ask,Ā āWhat do you think will happenāand why?āĀ Itās a simple way to turn play into aviation science:Ā ask, predict, test, observe, and learn!
